* Book launch ‘The Best American Book of the 20th Century’ Alix Gallet interviews Societe Realiste, authors of the books and editors/curators/co-designers Niels van Tomme (curator of, amongst others, the 2015 Bucharest Biennale) and Freek Lomme about this 100th Onomatopee project.
* Book launch ‘Passings to presents’. By re-enforcing the voids left by the regime, Italian artist Filippo Minelli takes over the gap left as a site of and for ephemeral poetry. After an introduction to the work and the book by curator Lene ter Haar and a visual survey into the book by graphic designer Gabriela Baka, Filippo Minelli will perform a time-based blast of smoke.

In this first oeuvre overview, texts are featured on neutralized “white cube” pages while the visual is hidden yet assessable inside Japanese folded pages. In result it confronts the fast redistribution of circulating imagery and acknowledges power relations within the actual context of production. An independent challenge both to producers of anti-culture and to the regime.
Living from one virtual ‘like’ to another, we remain in physical sites where we find ourselves regulated by opportunities - or lack thereof. The global creative is stuck with a vocabulary of likeability in the void of the real. We can face this, guerrilla style, but even guerrillas are taken over by the regime.
By re-enforcing the voids left by the regime, Filippo Minelli takes over the gap left as a site of and for ephemeral poetry. Tagging a silent voice, he proceeds where street art has reached a dead end and by tagging voids in their context he affirms the 2.0 opportunities for real-life sharing and negotiating. In doing so, he confuses our liking of the actuality we face. This work deals with inclusion and exclusion and opens up poetically. It might very well prove to be the strong poetic voice of a forerunning spokesperson for the silent voice of the majority.
Covering the work of Minelli for the first time, this book features theoretical texts on neutralized blank “white cube” pages acknowledging the hidden images that are assessable on the inside of the Japanese bound pages. This monographic survey dares to face the likeability of our conditioned visual and cultural rhetoric, confronting the fast redistribution of circulating imagery and at the same time acknowledging power relations within the actual context of production. An independent challenge, as much to fast youth and street culture as to the bureaucratic producers of our actual environment.
