Learn how to design and print 4-color images on risograph, the beloved Japanese printing method that blends the digital with the analog.
In this Full Color Photo workshop you will create “fake” CMYK prints using vibrant riso inks. First we teach you how to transform your photographs into 4-color RISO designs, then we lead you through the process of making your risoprints on our ME9350E and MF9350 machines.
You’ll walk away with a beautiful 5-copy set of your color photographic risoprints in A3, transformed from a slick photo into the texturized, analog, vintage look unique to risography and screen-printing.
What you need to do:
Bring in your own digital copy of high-resolution full-color photograph, and a laptop (if you want to participate but have no laptop, let us know).
What will happen:
We’ll do a demonstration of our A3 risographs, then show you how to split it up into printable file layers using Adobe Photoshop, or using the free RISO software Spectrolite.
This 6-hour workshop (10.00 - 16.00) is taught in English. We'll have coffee and tea, go through an introduction to the history of the risograph, followed by a demo of the A3 risoprinter, and a lesson on how to color-separate your photo. There will be a lunch break after which everyone gets to print their designs. The workshop fee includes 5 copies of your 4-color A3 risoprint of your own design, a mini RISO guide by Onomatopee, and a list of resource links sent after the workshop.
Student discount: If you are a student, you can request a 25% off discount code by emailing riso@onomatopee.net.
