We will be joining the first edition of the Brussels Ass Book Fair, which will take place at KANAL-Centre Pompidou from 29 November to 1 December 2024.

After six successful editions in Paris, the Paris Ass Book Fair is joining forces with KANAL-Centre Pompidou for the first Brussels Ass Book Fair. This new Brussels-based fair dedicated to independent art publishing will host some fifty exhibitors, bringing together local, national, and international creators, authors, enthusiasts, and collectives to present books, fanzines, and editions of all kinds.

The Brussels Ass Book Fair focuses on individuals and groups who may not have easy access to the commercial market and whose productions cannot be found via usual distribution channels. It welcomes editorial endeavors that, through humour, provocation, or radicalism, explore experiences, questions, and desires that challenge mainstream norms. With this in mind, the fair gives prominent space to LGBTQIA+ participants and projects, and acts as a forum for their reflections and expressions. The fair’s ambition is clear: to contribute with joy and irreverence to making our society fairer and more inclusive.

The Brussels Ass Book Fair will be held on both floors of K1, KANAL’s temporary venue at 1 Avenue du Port in Brussels. Alongside the fair, there will be a public programme, live events, and some special projects.

Printed Matter’s NY Art Book Fair (NYABF) is the leading international event for the distribution of artists’ books, celebrating contemporary artists’ publishing and the medium’s rich history. TOKYO ART BOOK FAIR started in 2009; the first book fair in Japan to specialize in art publications. Held annually, it gathers independent publishers, gallery presses, bookshops as well as individual artists and groups. The fair has seen constant growth in its scale and content over the years, and the event now gathers more than 350 participants from Japan and abroad and attracts more than 20,000 visitors every year.

Onomatopee can once again be found at this years edition of Offprint Paris!

From November 9 to 12, Offprint Paris will host at the Pavillon de l'Arsenal a selection of independent, experimental and socially engaged publishers in the fields of art, architecture, design, humanities and visual culture. This new edition will also present a program of talks and meetings throughout the weekend.

From Friday 12 to Sunday 14 of May, the seventh edition of Offprint London will be held at the Tate Modern Turbine Hall. A selection of independent, experimental and socially engaged publishers in the fields of art, architecture, design, humanities and visual culture will once again bring their publications and work to London.

Offprint will also present a program of talks and book signings throughout the weekend.

Since its creation, the Offprint platform has been promoting independent publishing through two annual publishers’ fairs in London and Paris.

Offprint is produced by LUMA Arles.

The San Francisco Art Book Fair is an annual multi-day festival of artists' publications. The event is FREE and OPEN to the public and features artists’ books, art catalogs, monographs, periodicals, zines, printed ephemera, and artists' multiples. These works are presented by over 100 independent publishers, antiquarian dealers, artists, collectors, and enthusiasts. Over the weekend, the fair hosts a diverse range of talks, discussions, book launches, on and off-site special projects, exhibitions and signings.

The second edition of The Other Book (Spring 2022) is devoted to the underground: artists' books and other printed matter ephemera of the counterculture; from the past and from the present.

The world has transformed under the weight of the current pandemic, restricting the freedom of movement that we had come to take for granted and taking away the ability for many in the independent publishing community to unveil new works in a physical space. However, this has also incited those in the field to each seek new paths forward and to uncover new alternatives. Each year since its founding in 2009, the TOKYO ART BOOK FAIR has brought publishers, galleries, and artists to Tokyo from around the world to create a platform of innovative expression for all things printed. Our role now is to utilize our experiences and connections to create a space where people can discover new art books and meet like-minded people in this new realm of the virtual.

With the global cancellation of Art Book Fairs, publishers are missing an important opportunity to show their new titles. Printed Matter’s NY Art Book Fair is for most publishers one of the highlights in their year; celebrating new books, meeting colleagues, bookshops, and booklovers in general.

Printed Matter’s NY Art Book Fair, ROOM C is the re-creation of one of the rooms in Printed Matter’s annual NY Art Book Fair, which was supposed to take place at MoMA PS1 in September this year. ‘ROOM C’ will be on display during the whole month of September at ENTER ENTER, where you can browse and buy new publications by Roma Publications, Spector Books, Fw:Books, Art Paper Editions, Kodoji Press, Valiz, MACK, the Eriskay Connection, Onomatopee, Lugemik, Idea Books and Perimeter Editions.

Printing Plant - Art Book Fair Amsterdam
23 November – 25 November 2018

In conjunction with Amsterdam Art Weekend, 23-25 November 2018, Looiersgracht 60 is organising a bespoke and intimate 3-day art-book fair for like-minded, independent publishers. Artistic print culture has a rich narrative in Amsterdam’s history, one that is often overlooked. As there is currently no book fair focusing on art books in Amsterdam, we would like to take this opportunity to offer a new platform for the progressive publications that artists and publishing houses are producing.

Publishing has assumed an increasingly central position within artistic practices. Yet it has become more difficult to produce, distribute and present special art books in recent years - often due to a lack of funding. Many of the beautiful titles that have been published are only on view in the shops of a few motivated and specialist booksellers, museum bookshops and galleries. Printing Plant will present a remarkable selection of artist editions, multiples, art catalogues, books, monographs, periodicals and zines that are generally unavailable in bookstores. Filling 750 square meters of exhibition space, the fair will invite visitors to learn morefrom 60 carefully selected independent publishers, antiquarian dealers, artists, galleries and printmakers who will be showcasing their works throughout the weekend.

The unique housing, and history, of Looiersgracht 60 will be utilised to correspond to the etiquette of the fair. Prior to its current use as a non-profit exhibition centre for art, design and architecture, Looiersgracht 60 was home to a cardboard and paper factory that also printed pamphlets, posters and cards for artists and museums. The building thus has a long-standing connection with the artist community of Amsterdam, making it an ideal location for Printing Plant. Considering the building’s past, it felt fitting to reiterate its previous function to conceive a new platform for printed matter.

After three successful years, it is our pleasure to announce that the 4th edition of The Cologne Art Book Fair (TCABF) will take place in a new location in 2018: From July 6 through 8, the platform for artists’ books, zines, and artists’ magazines will be held at Kölnischer Kunstverein.
TCABF will take place in the galleries, the cinema, and the Riphahn-Hall of the Kunstverein and will invite the public to take part in a broad program of talks, book presentations, readings, and film screenings accompanying the fair on three days.

Again in the last years, TCABF is inviting a broad spectrum of exhibitors, makers of artists’ books, publishers, initiatives, and self-publishing artists and authors, who are less presented at large commercial fairs, but have contributed significantly to the artists’ books scene.
Besides regional and national exhibitors and international guests, TCABF seeks to establish a strong connection to the local art scene through a cooperation with the Kölnischer Kunstverein.
